Under The Big Sky celebrates the tradition of gathering friends and family together under open skies to listen to music. The festival explores the breadth and legacy of Americana, taking in both traditional and contemporary takes on our country’s rich musical traditions, across two stages in naturally formed amphitheaters on the ranch.

Yes, we encourage lawn chairs for viewing and hanging between acts! LOW BACK: folding, camping or beach chairs.

We kindly ask that you leave your umbrella & tent at home so you don’t block your partners view! Small Parasols are ok to shade from the sun.

A medium backpack should be no bigger than 18″ tall, 13″ wide and 8″ thick packed. Bags will have to fit into a box of that size (similar to the system used at airports). If your bag doesn’t fit in the box, it won’t be allowed inside the venue.

The festival is on rain or shine but we typically lucky in Whitefish during these months with lots of sunshine. We suggest bringing a jacket for the evening and supportive footwear. Hats and shades always a good idea!

There is no re-entry per day into the festival for all attendees. We have plenty of food and drink options on site, as well as a general store for anything you may need. If you have specific needs or concerns, please contact [email protected]

Our goal is to ensure everyone who attends the UTBS has a positive experience. We have several ADA entrances and viewing locations to ensure our ADA fans are able to enjoy their time on the ranch. *ADA Parking will be located in the VIP Parking lot*

Yes. We have numerous amounts of trained security guards as well as various officers at and around the entire event.

We accept Credit Cards, Debit Cards, & Cash. ATMs will be located around the venue.

You MUST have a valid Government form of ID to enter the festival (ID, Drivers License, or Passport). We’ll send a reminder of this prior to the festival – but please don’t wait until the week of to lose your forms of ID – we CANNOT guarantee entry without proper identification! See below for a list of acceptable ID’s below:

  • Any US government-issued driver’s license or ID card containing a photograph and date of birth
  • US or foreign government-issued passport containing a photograph and date of birth
  • Foreign government-issued driver’s license/ID
  • Temporary DMV documents proving you are currently renewing a license — ONLY if accompanied by passport or expired license

Exclusive UTBS merch will be available at our merch tent near the entrance!

Yes. We have a wide assortment of food including vegan and vegetarian options. If you have dietary restrictions and need to bring in outside food, our security guards will be happy to help approve items upon arrival.

Yes. There is a free water refill station located in the middle of the festival. You can also buy bottled water at any bar/beverage kiosk inside.

Medical prescriptions must be approved by Festival staff and in their original containers with labels that match the holder’s legal ID. If you require insulin, please identify yourself to security before entering the venue. Security will locate medical staff to assist you in providing a secure area to store your insulin.Please reach out prior to the festival if you require approval for medical [email protected]

Yes. First aid stations will be clearly indicated on site and marked both on your festival map.

Lost and found is located next to the Merchandise Booth at the festival. If your items do not turn up the weekend of the festival, we will keep items with us and provide a link to place a claim on our website. You can return any lost items directly to our ‘Lost & Found’ kiosk and visit to inquire after your missing items. Please only give items you find to the Lost & Found directly. Do not hand over items to random staff or guards.

We love all animals, but unfortunately you’ll have to leave your best furry friends at home, including dogs, cats, etc. If you require a service animal, please contact [email protected]

Of course! We encourage everyone of all ages to enjoy the event. Children under the age of 6 years old can enter for free. Everyone else needs to purchase a ticket in advance.
